High school junior and senior boys have until Aug. 29 to apply for the East Suburban Atlanta Chapter of Jack and Jill of America’s 1st Biennial Beautillion.

The event celebrates the achievements of African-American males who are high school juniors and/or seniors. Each “Beau” is chosen for his demonstrated achievements in academics, sports, the arts, community, church, leadership, and his overall commitment to the advancement of African-Americans.

The young men, or Beaux, will be selected through a nomination process and will be given the opportunity to participate in workshops; community service projects; and self-awareness, personal growth, team building, educational and cultural activities throughout the year.

The program concludes with a spring 2011 ball, where the young men will be formally introduced to the community.
