A DeKalb school bus ran off the road and into a ditch in the 5200 block of Browns Mill Road during the Tuesday afternoon rush hour.

The bus hit a car before crashing into a utility pole, snapping the pole in half. Police say there were no children on board and the driver was not injured.

Spokeswoman Mekka Parrish said the woman suffered an apparent diabetic seizure and blacked out moments before the accident.

A wrecker service was able to pull the bus free, but traffic was backed up in both directions on Browns Mill for about an hour.
