DeKalb Commissioner Larry Johnson, author and fitness buff Larry “the Outstanding Man” Bobo, and 2012 Fitness FaceOff Champion Tamisha Cosby will be offering thumbs-up and -down on the popular competition in which personal trainers and fitness instructors showcase the routines they use to motivate their clients to be active and healthy.
Johnson and Bobo have been judges in the competition before. Johnson helped judge the inaugural Fitness FaceOff in 2011, and Bobo was a judge for the 2012 competition. Cosby, a fitness instructor at New Birth’s Samson Fitness Center in Lithonia and Anytime Fitness in Conyers, vied in both competitions. She came in a close second in the first and claimed the Championship Trophy in the second.
The three will judge the competition that begins at 1 p.m. on Jan. 26 during CrossRoadsNews’ annual Health & Wellness Expo at the Mall at Stonecrest. It takes place on the Main Stage in front of Sears on the lower level.
Johnson, who represents District 3 on the Board of Commissioners, is in his third four-year term. He is a Fulton County public health manager and creator of DeKalb Walks, an initiative he launched in 2004 to encourage residents to “walk to better health” in county parks.
Bobo, author of “How to Find an Outstanding Man” and “Becoming an Outstanding Man: Marriage, Family and Relationships,” is host of the Web-based Beef Up & Go Fitness Show. He created the Stack-and-Rack 60-Day Challenge for men who struggle to gain weight because of high metabolism.
