The 11:30 a.m.-to-1:30 p.m. meeting of stakeholders will craft a strategic plan for attracting investors, businesses and new jobs to the area.
It is the first of three public meetings planned.
It will include an interactive presentation and small group discussions about the area’s economic potential, marketing, policy and infrastructure needs.
Dan Reuter, chief of the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Land Use Planning Division, said the CID is taking a thoughtful look by studying the industries here now and those that might benefit from locating in the area in the future.
“The Livable Centers Initiative study will help the CID identify ways to connect industries and businesses to each other and to the services their employees need,” he said.
The CID is seeking to create 2,000 new jobs by the end of 2013. An online survey to help assess the CID’s business environment and the strategic actions is available. Business owners, agency representatives, and those with a vested interest in the area are encouraged to take it at www.stonemountaincid.com.
