July 4th revelers can ride MARTA buses and trains to events celebrating the nation’s 236th birthday for $2.50 each way.

The transit system will operate a weekday rail schedule with special event service added throughout the day to accommodate the celebrations.

Service will be available from 4:45 a.m. to 1 a.m. to accommodate the Peachtree Road Race, Braves game, fireworks displays and other events.

Additional staff and police will be available to assist commuters.

Peachtree Road Race participants can take the Gold Line train to Lenox for the start of some races at 6:45 a.m. MARTA will operate extra trains to Lenox to get runners quickly to the starting line.

Shuttle buses will also be available at Lindbergh Center Station before the race to transport runners close to the starting line – Buckhead Loop – and at Midtown station after the race to bring participants back to Lindbergh Center Station.

Parking for less than 24 hours is free at all MARTA’s daily parking facilities.

To receive free daily parking, motorists who park in the decks at Lindbergh Station must park in MARTA designated areas and validate their parking ticket at machines inside Lindbergh Center Station. MARTA has some designated lots that charge a fee.

Some bus routes will be re-routed for the Peachtree Road Race and other scheduled events.
