DeKalb School officials walked into a hornet's nest Thursday at the first community meeting about its proposal to slash transportation for 5,600 students who attend magnet, theme and other choice schools countywide.
More than 100 angry parents packed the auditorium at Columbia High School in Decatur and gave officials an earful on the proposed $7.6 million cost-cutting Transportation Efficiency Plan that goes to the School Board for a vote on Sept. 26.
