Authors Marlena deBlasi, Mike Glenn and Jeffrey Deaver will be speaking about and signing their newest books during June Festival of Writers at Decatur Library.

On June 9, deBlasi will talk about "That Summer in Sicily," a book brimming with unexpected views of the Sicilian landscape, charming characters and delightful recipes.

"That Summer in Sicily" is deBlasi's third book. She is also the author of "A Thousand Days in Tuscany" and "The Lady in the Palazzo: At Home in Umbria."

Glenn, a former guard and color commentator for the Atlanta Hawks, will discuss "Frederick Douglass: The Founding Father of Slavery Free America" on June 11 at the library.

Glenn, who is an accomplished collector of rare African-American books, examines the life and vision of Douglass, the outspoken abolitionist, preacher and African-American icon.

His book focuses primarily on Douglass' pre-Civil War career, 1818-1860. This is Glenn's fourth book.

Deaver will talk about his thriller, "The Broken Window," on June 12. The engaging Lincoln Rhyme book is Deaver's 23rd novel. He is also the author of "The Cold Moon," "A Maiden's Grave" and "The Sleeping Doll."

All of the appearances are at 7:15 p.m. Admission is free.

The Decatur Library is at 215 Sycamore St. For more information, visit www.georgiacenterforthebook.org, www.dekalblibrary.org or call 404-370-8450.
