The awards and honors keep piling up for Judge Gregory A. Adams.

Ten months after DeKalb County's new Juvenile Justice Center was named for him, the DeKalb Superior Court Judge won the "Distinguished Leadership Award" at the 28th annual Leadership Conference in Denver on April 26.

The award recognizes individuals who have made significant and notable contributions for the betterment of their communities. He was nominated for the award by Leadership DeKalb. Adams is a 1990 alumnus of Leadership DeKalb.

Last year, the nonprofit gave him its 2007 Distinguished Alumni Award, one of 13 awards he has received from groups like the Partnership for Community Action, the Boy Scouts' Soapstone Ridge District, the DeKalb Lawyers Association and Gov. Sonny Perdue.

Adams lives in Stone Mountain.
