Redan's dominance on the baseball diamond this season is reflected in the rosters for the the DeKalb All-County and Senior All-Star teams.

The Raiders — who had the best record in DeKalb County, finished the regular season at 24-2 and won the Region 2 5A title with a 14-0 record — placed four players on the All-County first team and five on the South All-Star team. Lithonia and Dunwoody, with three players each, were the only other schools to place more than one player on the All-County team, and Dunwoody, on the North team, was the only other school to produce five senior All-Stars.

Redan's All-County players, all seniors, are pitcher Dominic Brown, infielder Neiko Johnson, catcher Tyrone Ellis and infielder Chris Jones. They are joined on the All-Star team by fellow senior pitcher Kyle Smith.

The Senior All-Star teams — North and South — will face off in the fourth annual DeKalb County Senior All-Star Classic on June 3.

The first game of the doubleheader, which features 20 of the county's best players on each team, will start at 1 p.m.

The All-Star Classic will be the last high school game for the seniors.

Last weekend, Redan and Lithonia seniors saw their seasons end with playoff defeats in three-game series. The Raiders fell to Valdosta 2-1 and the Bulldogs were defeated 2-0 by Fannin County. Dunwoody, the only other DeKalb team to make the playoffs, defeated Cedartown 2-0 in their three-game series.

The All-Star Classic began in 2003 to give scouts another look at some of the county's top seniors leading up to the Major League Baseball draft in June.
