"Empowering Our Youth Today for a Better Tomorrow" is the theme of the breakfast meeting, which seeks to strengthen the bond of unity among leaders statewide.
More than 600 elected officials, and business and religious leaders from across the state are anticipated to attend the prayer breakfast, held annually on the Saturday before the legislature convenes.
This year's program will be dedicated to the late Del Delaper, who served as GBCC president from 2000 and became chairman in 2994. Delaper was a retired director of the University of Georgia Small Business Development Center's Minority Business Development office. He died in June of cancer.
To honor him, the GBCC will establish a new signature program in 2006 called the Youth Leadership and Entrepreneurship Academy.
The 8:30 a.m. breakfast event will be at the Westin Peachtree Plaza, 210 Peachtree St. in Atlanta. Tickets are $50 for chamber members and $60 for guests.
