Seminar to focus on growth|BUSINESS BRIEFLY

The DeKalb Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Business Growth seminar Aug. 15-16 to help business owners focus on their vision and take control of their time, team and money.

Participants will also learn marketing techniques, ways to increase sales and profits; and the lifetime value of customers.

The Aug. 15 workshop will be from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. in the Jim Cherry Learning Center at Georgia Perimeter College, 555 N. Indian Creek Drive in Clarkston. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m.

The Aug. 16 workshop will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce Conference Room at 150 E. Ponce de Leon Ave., Suite 400, in downtown Decatur. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Complimentary tickets are available by calling 770-277-2212.

Business procurement expo

New and existing small business representatives can find out how to gain access to public procurement representatives, corporate supplier diversity teams, capital specialists and other business resources at the 2005 DeKalb County Business Procurement Lenders Expo on Aug. 18.

The free expo will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Select in downtown Decatur. It is being held in conjunction with Minority Enterprise Development Week, Aug. 14-20.

The Holiday Inn Select is at 130 Clairemont Road.
