Well this is it and I believe I am now ready to post my first Blog. I have been attempting to get the hang of this Blog concept and if this is done correctly I will give myself a high five.
There has been a new political wind blowing in America and Dekalb County Georgia. It is perhaps a known fact Barack Obama is the P.O.T.U.S. and in Dekalb County there may be many who do not know who the current C.E.O. is. I wrote an article which was printed in the CrossRoadsNews about this new administration not being much different from the previous one.
As with any and everything you should give it time to prove it is what it claims to be. This new C.E.O. of Dekalb has stated he would listen to the people of Dekalb. Well I am aware just as many in this county and country are and that is we are in some very challenging economic time. It has been stated that the county is short several million of dollars.
The previous C.E.O. in my view spent a number of Dekalb taxpayer dollars making sure the people of Dekalb and those who drove through Dekalb knew who the C.E.O. was. Now that Mr.C.E.O. is no longer the C.E.O. there countless signs that are littered thought-out the county proclaiming the past C.E.O. as C.E.O. of Dekalb County.
To the new C.E.O. of Dekalb this citizen would offer the following suggestions to correct a waste of taxpayer dollars and remove incorrect signage in the county.
1. Review to current trash collection for the county. Currently we have twice a week trash pickup and once a week yard debris pickup. Our trash pickup can be reduced to once a week pickup and yard debris can be done once a month. My reasoning is anyone who has so much trash which requires twice a week pickup should pay for the extra pickup. The weekly debris pickup is basically giving the workers two days a month pay for no work. My reason is that the debris pickup is complete by 12 noon each Friday. With this savings give the taxpayers a reduction in the trash collection fee.
2.Issue a call to the citizens of Dekalb to remove every sign with Vernon Jones name as C.E.O. and do not spend any more of taxpayers money with signs which will change proclaiming who the C.E.O. and the Board of Commissioners are.
Now these are only one citizen’s suggestions but will save the county money. Remember we are all facing a financial challenge and we here in Dekalb County could use a bailout.
