Area motorcyclists are revving up for the ninth annual Ride for the Cure on Sept. 29 in McDonough.

The event, which will feature a car show, is sponsored by Snapping Shoals EMC to benefit the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.

Registration for the ride takes place from 9 to 10 a.m. at the EMC’s headquarters at 14750 Brown Bridge Road in Covington. The fee is $25 per rider, which includes a T-shirt. The cost for passengers is $10.

Extra T-shirts may be purchased for $15 each. Registered motorcyclists will receive one raffle ticket and can buy more to increase their chance of winning a variety of prizes.

The 60-mile ride departs EMC headquarters at 10:30 a.m. The route goes through scenic, rural countryside and ends at Glen Haven Baptist Church at 345 East Lake Road in McDonough.

Trophies will be awarded at the car show and drawings for prizes will be held.

Registration is $20 per car and takes place from 9 a.m. to noon at Glen Haven. The show ends at 2 p.m.
