Crime Stoppers Atlanta has issued a $15,000 reward for information about the person or persons who gunned down mother of four Jameelah Qureshi in her Lithonia driveway.
Qureshi, 40, who was engaged to a DeKalb County Police sergeant, was murdered in her driveway in the 700 block of Kilkenny Circle Saturday on her way home from work.
Dave Wilkinson, CEO of the Atlanta Police Foundation, said Crime Stoppers want to help catch the culprits.
“Citizens can either phone in information anonymously or donate to the reward pool,” he said.
Most reward funds are $2,000, but because of the heinous nature of this crime, the reward amount was increased.
DeKalb Police spokesperson Mekka Parish said that Qureshi was shot eight times while she was sitting in her car after backing into her driveway around 4 p.m.
“There is no suspect, description or motive in the case,” she said. Parish said Qureshi’s fiancé was not a suspect in the case. She would not release information about the officer due to safety concerns.
Qureshi’s profile on Classmates.com, lists her as a 1987 graduate of Gordon High School, now McNair High School.
Her classmates, shocked at the news of her untimely death, have been leaving memorial messages on her profile.
