Tucker’s grandfather, the Rev. Theodore Bryant, will be the parade’s grand marshall.
The star of the “Rush Hour” movies will be town for his Chris Tucker Live show at the Atlanta Fox Theater on Nov. 9 and 10.
Lithonia Mayor Deborah Jackson said they are thrilled at the news.
The parade is sponsored by the city and the Lithonia Veterans Day Committee. It will honor past and present veterans of Lithonia.
The 11 a.m. to noon parade will start at Lithonia Middle School and end at Lithonia’s historic African American cemetery. It will be followed by a program that includes special guests, choirs and a keynote speaker.
There will be tours of the city’s two historic cemeteries after the program.
A commemorative booklet will highlight veterans who are buried in the Lithonia City Cemetery and the Bruce Street African American Cemetery.
