Two-day conference to empower youth

Thousands of youth and young adults are expected for the July 13-14 You Power Purpose Conference at the Cobb Galleria Center, and registration is now open.

The Rev. Jared Sawyer Jr., CEO and president of YPP Conference, said they are expecting more than 3,500 people for what he calls “a life-changing gathering of next-generation leaders.”

He said the conference will encourage young people to live their life pursuing limitless success.

The two-day conference will be packed with workshops, exhibits, concerts, movie screenings, empowerment sessions, and other festivities.

“Our goal is to teach our young people to be the best they can be while they are young and go beyond the normality our world teaches our young generation today,” Sawyer said.

Participants can expect to see A-List celebrities from  entertainment, sports, business and politics. There will also be product signings, performances and meet-and-greets.

The program will include the likes of OWN's "Greenleaf" star Desiree Ross; Cameron Kasky, founder of March for Our Lives; Fox News contributor Alveda King, who is the niece of Martin Luther King Jr.; Grammy-nominated artist Jekalyn Carr; and activist and National Action Network Youth Director Mary Pat Hector.
