Inaugural DeKalb Senior Prom crowns 2019 King and Queen

DeKalb County Senior Prom Queen and King for 2019, Annie Lowe and James Scott, are joined by DeKalb District 5 Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson at the Lou Walker Center on May 30.

Trumpet player Milkshake wowed prom-goers with his blend of blues, jazz and vocal impressions, including a mean Louie Armstrong.

James Scott and Annie Lowe are the 2019 DeKalb County Senior Prom King and Queen.

Scott, the Prom King from Bruce Street Senior Center, and Lowe, the Prom Queen from Lou Walker Senior Center nabbed the county-wide title on May 30 at the inaugural Senior Prom Night, presented by DeKalb Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson.

The event, held at Lou Walker Senior Center, featured dinner, dancing, and performances by trumpeter and vocalist, Milkshake. 

The runners-up were DeKalb Atlanta Senior Center's King and Queen, Courtney Brown and Belinda Swan; Bruce Street Senior Center's Queen Carol Scott; and Lou Walker Senior Center's King, George Wadley.

It wouldn't be a prom without spirited dancing, and the folks attending the May 30 Senior Prom did not disappoint.
