Lucy Ke, head of KeFactors, will offer tips on spotting and decoding fake news on Aug. 23 at the Decatur Library.
The lunch-and-learn seminar takes place 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Participants are encouraged to bring their lunch.
In the last decade or two, with the growth of the internet and social media, fake news stories and entire fake news sites have proliferated. Studies show that a majority of people cannot accurately distinguish fake from real news.
The session will help consumers of news become more proficient in spotting fake news.
Ke, who has more than 30 years' experience, provides comprehensive communications services and training needs.
"Spotting Fake News," which is sponsored by Friends of the Decatur Library, is open to the first 50 participants.
The library is at 215 Sycamore St. in downtown Decatur. For more information, visit www.dekalblibrary.org or call 404-370-3070.
